BURNABY BC-- After his first pre season skate of the season with players from the SFU Ice Hockey team, Vicious and Delicious Centre Andrew Delbaere was quoted as saying "It felt great to be back on the ice again. Clearly I still have to work on getting my conditioning back to where it needs to be, but overall a good first skate"

On the topic of the hip injury that kept him sidelined for much of last season and limited his effectiveness Andrew seemed happy with the condition of his hip "It was still a little bit sore out there but that has to be expected. The strength has returned and it is no longer affecting my stride. I feel it will be 100% or very close to it by our first game, and if I take care of it, I should have a healthy season"

With the return of Vicious and Delicious to Planet Ice Delta, Andrew was asked about his feelings on how the team would fare this season. "It's nice to be coming back to Delta this year, you never want to make excuses but the travel last season may have affected our play especially as we got to the playoffs. With the better location and what I feel is our strongest line up in the 4 years our team has been around, I think this season should be a successful one for us, and providing the new guys fit in with the current players on the team, we should be able to make a deep run in this years playoffs.

Andrew and the rest of Vicious and Delicious will begin their season against long time rival The Collectors, in what is sure to be an exciting game Monday August 29th at 10:30pm on the International Rink.
